via lvb.com – – An innovative candy store had a grand opening planned for April 9 in Bethlehem Township.
Chocolate Works is a franchise chocolate factory-like concept store that creates custom candies as well as lets guests make their own treats.
The shop is owned by Pat and Kelly Messman, who bought the 21st franchise of Chocolate Works since the company began franchising about three years ago. Chocolate Works’ founder is Joe Whaley, who began the concept out of his parents’ Manhattan chocolate store.
The shop is the first Chocolate Works in Pennsylvania.
“We thought Chocolate Works was a good fit for us and for the Lehigh Valley because there really isn’t anything like this around here,” Pat Messman said.
Messman said the chocolate shop is as much an experience as it is a retail store.
Messman also provides chocolate catering for events, and has custom work going out shortly for a local bank event.
Chocolate Works is in the new Madison Farms development at 4773 Freemansburg Ave., Bethlehem Township.
